Brunch with the J’s – Volume 1

Saturday May 6th, 2017

After cancelling an upstate hiking trip due to agony from impacted wisdom teeth and tonsils the size of tumors I still convinced myself that brunch with my best friend would be a stellar idea. Surprisingly I was able to down the Frittata without any major problems.

Located in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill on busy Fulton street Sisters Restaurant is accompanied by neighbors such as Emily (yup the burger + pizza joint) and Belli Osteria.

The space doubles as a music venue at night but during the day it’s inviting and soaked with natural light highlighting the long marble bar, wooden features and brick walls. They don’t take reservations but if you’re meeting a friend for Brunch the wait to sit at the bar doesn’t typically seem too brutal, you can grab a drink while you wait).

Jamie (the other J ofc, and one of my dearest friends) had the Savory French Toast (specifically the dish I wanted but couldn’t indulge in due to this damn tooth) and I had the Frittata as previously mentioned. The French Toast was an excellent twist on a classic French Toast, more or less the perfect option when you can’t decide between sweet or savory. It’s both! It’s topped with pulled pork, scallions, cheddar and fried egg 🍳 with a side of  maple syrup. The frittata included goat cheese and spinach with a side of arugula. Bonus points to Sisters for using organic, antibiotic free and local produce not to mention the beautiful and unique interior.
